For some of us, the true loves of our lives are our furry friends (don’t worry, we won’t tell your significant other). There’s something so special about the love shared between a pet and their owner. That’s why we think Valentine’s Day is a day worth celebrating with your feline or canine friend! This holiday can be celebrated with a special someone and your pet, or it can be a day of fun for just you and your pet. Get some ideas below!
Sweet Treats for You and Your Pet
A great way to show your pet some extra love on Valentine’s Day is to treat them with a treat, of course! This could be a special treat from the pet store, a specially-prepared homemade treat, or a little something special from a fast food restaurant. For example, you can get yourself your favorite drink from Starbucks and get your dog a Puppuccino (a small cup of whipped cream). Other chains that have special treats and goodies for dogs include Chick-Fil-A, In-n-Out, Dairy Queen, and Sprinkles Cupcakes.
A Day at The Park
Since Valentine’s Day falls on a weekend this year, it’s the perfect excuse to spend part of the day at the park. You can even include your significant other by having a picnic! If your dog doesn’t get to go to a dog park very often, this could be a fun little outing for them. Be sure to bring any new toys you buy for your pup for Valentine’s Day. After all, we live in San Diego! Why not soak up some of that sun?
Toys and Clothes
Does your cat or dog have a heart-shaped toy, yet? If not, Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to give them one! And, you and your pet can don your best red and pink clothes to mark the occasion, not that we needed a reason to buy more clothes and toys for our furry friends.
Regardless of whether you’re single or in a relationship, we hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day with your pet! If you happen to be traveling out of town to celebrate the holiday and your pet can’t go with you, we’re here to help! As licensed and bonded pet care experts, we’d love to pet sit your precious cat or pup while you’re away. We offer pet-sitting and dog-walking services in the San Diego area.
